Ministry to
Children and Youth
Young people at the Advent Christian
Church are not looked at as the "future of the church", they are
actively part of the "present" of the church. It is our goal to
provide opportunities for all children to hear about God's love, to have
it demonstrated for them, and provide opportunities to show God's love
to others. We do this in many ways, the core being our weekly
meetings.
Sunday School
Designed classes for all ages from
the youngest children to the oldest adults. Held each week on
Sunday mornings following the morning worship at 11:15 to 12:15.
Sonshine Nursery School

more about our ministry to three and four year olds.
Kid's Klub
Held on Wednesdays during the school
year from 6:30 till 8:00pm, held at the church on Cushing Road. Children
in grades Kindergarten to 4th grade will participate in games, crafts,
singing and a Bible lesson. Occasional special trips are often
scheduled.
5th and 6th
Grade A
special group for 5th and 6th graders meets weekly on Wednesday nights
at the church, specially designed to meet the social needs of kids at
this age group, who will eventually transition into the Middle school
age. Games and activities coupled with life lessons from God's
Word are scheduled. This group also runs through the school year.
This group is overseen by our Youth Pastor, Jim Havener, and has several
college-aged and high school volunteers.
Jr Youth Fellowship
Meeting Monday nights from 6:30 to
8:00, the Jr Youth for those in grades 7 and 8 will participate in
service projects, games, life-lessons from the Word of God, and special
trips including Summer camps and retreats. Youth Pastor Jim
Havener and Katy Havener have developed an excellent program specific to
this age group. This meeting is held at Jim and Katy's house,
behind the church, accessed from Bradford Point Road.
Sr Youth Fellowship
The ministry designed for High school
students meets on Sunday nights from 5:30 till 7:00 at Pastor Jim and
Katy's house. More advanced teaching for young people with inquiring
minds, this group seeks to teach how to live a Christ-like life in a
very un-Christ-like world. Bible studies dealing with social
pressures and following Christ are provided in a way which can reach
teens at all stages of their spiritual lives. Mission trips,
service projects, and of course, games and social events are provided
regularly.
Contact the church at the address and phone number above with questions
concerning any and all of these ministries. Ask for Pastor Jim or
Pastor Alan. |
